Bike for Bender is a California non-profit organization that was founded in memory of Robert Bender who lost his life to cancer in 2010 at the young age of 26. Robert was a pro-level XC cyclist, one of the top local DH riders in the area, and a strong endurance athlete at heart.  On any given weekend you could find Robert riding from Redlands to the SART and back or out in the south hills of Loma Linda building trails.  When he wasn’t riding, he spent his time in the shop working on bikes; mostly other people’s. Robert was well known throughout the cycling community.  He was a kind and generous person, an ambassador of the sport, and he encouraged and introduced many young adults to the world of cycling. Our mission is to continue to support the local cycling community as Robert did.

Bike for Bender has partnered with the SoCal League since 2013 to provide scholarships of various types to SoCal League riders and teams.
